Ričardas Gavelis is one of Lithuanua’s underrated Lithuanian writers, who left behind deep, dark and poignant books. Insider’s look to the Soviet occupied Lithuanian capital Vilnius, this book was written when Soviet Union was on the verge of collapse. Dark exploration of what is truth and look for one’s identity. Filled to brim with symbolism, this book might need some historic knowledge in order to understand it better or it can be a starting point of looking at what was happening in Lithuania back in a day, and how it influenced the todays life in Lithuania. This is not your usual read and might not be quite for everybody.
