Watch Depeche Mode Jeopardy! — All 5 Episodes

Last Updated on July 7, 2022

Logo for Depeche Mode Jeopardy (in the Depeche Mode Global Fan Group)I have to hand it to Rob Rohm, aka “Mr. Depeche Mode.” As the founder of the Depeche Mode Global Fan Group on Facebook, he’s maintained a rather heavy schedule of interactive programming that has kept many of us Devotees entertained and engaged during the coronavirus lockdown, from Drink & Chats with fans around the globe to Q&A sessions with Depeche Mode collaborators such as Brian Griffin (watch Part 1 and Part 2) and Gareth Jones (Part 1 and Part 2).

But some of the most popular events (according to Facebook views) have been the Depeche Mode Jeopardy! games that Rob and I produced together. Coming up with 250+ unique questions was quite a challenge, not to mention producing a live show that had only me and Rob running all the technical aspects (buzz-ins, verifying answers, controlling the game board, etc.) while simultaneously hosting. In the end, though, all the hard work was more than worth it.

We began with the tournament. For the first three games, five players competed to win prizes of a photographic print from Cristian Flueraru of Spirits in the Forest, a set of huevitos (egg-shaped maracas) from Dicken Schrader of DMK and Spirits in the Forest, and a signed copy of my book, Faithful and Devoted: Confessions of a Music AddictThe three winners went on to compete in the championship game, with the grand prize being a signed print from band photographer Brian Griffin, who joined us along with YouTuber Vaughn George in the post-game Drink & Chat. (You’ll have to watch to see who won — no spoilers here!)

Then, because so many fans asked what we had up our sleeves next, Rob and I decided to go for one more game, the Holiday Edition, which brought back previous contestants Dicken, Daniel Cassús of Spirits in the Forest, and Brent Meyer of Strangelove: The Depeche Mode Experience. Although the Final Jeopardy question wasn’t quite as tough as the one for the championship (which Rob and I struggled over for several days), the game was still quite a nailbiter. Special thanks to Mirit Arad for providing a Depeche Mode pendant as the prize. And a huge thanks to Alex Trebek, who passed away just before we made this episode. We included a tribute to him near the end.

Below you’ll find the videos of each of the games, as well as links to the game boards so you can play at home.
